Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation is thrilled to participate in the latest BBC  & NCD Alliance mini documentary series, #TurningTheTide featuring people living with NCDs from India, Malaysia, Mexico & Kenya. Rohan talks about living with type 1 diabetes in the Covid era in this documentary.

The NCD Alliance launched a community based, multi-media story telling project called the NCD Diaries so that people living with non communicable diseases can share lived experiences to drive change through a public narrative framework. Nupur created the first photo essay on their platform. Click the post below to view.

We are grateful to Beyond Type 1 for spreading the word about our diabetes and mental health helpline, Buddy Project, which is available to use on the Blue Circle Diabetes mobile app. Read the article here.

The Buddy Project is our mobile app based psychosocial helpline for diabetes and mental health. 12 trained volunteers (type 1, type 2 & caregivers), speaking 9 languages are here to listen to you without judgements. If you feel lost, depressed, anxious, panicky, suicidal or generally upset, please schedule a call with us. These are tough times but remember you are NOT alone, your community stands with you.

How to call the Buddy Project helpline

‌Open the Blue Circle Diabetes app > Buddy Project > Schedule tab > pick a buddy of your choice > Schedule a call (once you schedule you'll see it under the 'Meetings' tab > 10 minutes prior to the call, you'll receive an app notification/reminder > To join the call, open the app, go to Buddy Project & under the 'Meetings' tab, press the 'Join' button (video is off by default, can switch on as per preference)

As we witness the toll from COVID-19 on people living with non-communicable diseases, it’s vital we consider these vulnerable populations in strategies to build back better. See what ideas Nupur had to share during a recent panel for the NCD Academy. View the panel discussion here.

Our very cool community members Rohan, Kashvi, Arvind and Ruchika were featured in the Diabetes Health magazine.

Throwback! Happy memories from last year
